Our service supports automatic translation of over 100 languages. If your preferred language is different from English, just start typing in your preferred language. The system will advise the Quit Coach to activate the automatic translation. You will see their answers in your language!

Our Quit Coaches will offer advice and guidance according to the British Columbia regulations and services, if you are outside of the province some of these will not apply.

Is this chat managed by chatbots?

No, our Live Chat service is provided by real people! Our Quit Coaches are educated in Psychology or Social Work and receive regular training on cessation, addiction, and related fields. They are trained to provide behavioural support and help you navigate setting a quit date, choose quit methods, and work through cravings. Your Quit Coach is available to you for as long as you need. 

Note that our Quit Coaches cannot prescribe or distribute quit medications or nicotine replacement therapy.

Why do I need to provide my name and email?

You only need to provide your name. This is so the Quit Coach can use your name in conversation. You can give a nickname if you do not want to give your real name. Providing your email address is optional.

Do I need an account to access Live Chat?

You do not need an account to access Live Chat. Live Chat is open to all British Columbians to help you on your quit journey.  We encourage you to create an account so the Quit Coach can give you personalized advice based on where you are in your quit journey. Creating an account with QuitNow’s cessation program also lets you, set a quit date, receive text and email tips, keep track of how much money you have saved, and more.
